Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist to operate lathe and milling machines Mon-Thu 5:30 pm to 2:00 am. The role emphasizes routine, high-precision machining from drawings and specifications in a busy shop environment.

You will perform machine setups, first-piece inspections, and routine preventative maintenance while maintaining accurate records. The position is onsite with a comprehensive benefits package and a discretionary bonus program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.
• Ability to set up machines and inspect first-piece parts.

Responsibilities

• Work from drawings and specifications to complete machining operations.
• Set up machines to achieve close tolerances and proper alignment.
• Perform inspections on first pieces and in-process work with precision tools.
• Maintain records of time, counts, and inspections for each job.
• Create jigs or fixtures as needed and assist other machinists.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and verify GD&T on prints.
• Ensure safe setup and interpretation of prints to prevent material damage.
