Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX, is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist to perform routine and repetitive machining tasks on standardized parts using lathe and mill CNC machines. The role includes setting up machines, inspecting first pieces, keeping records, and maintaining tools and fixtures.

Requires a high school diploma, 2+ years of CNC experience, and training in shop math and blueprint reading. The position is onsite with a discretionary bonus plan and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist.
• Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Work from drawings, sketches and specifications in completing various machining operations.
• Perform machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
• Obtain inspections on first pieces and progress with in-process inspections using measuring devices.
• Maintain records of time, part counts, first piece inspections and requisition forms.
• Make jigs, fixtures or non-production devices as assigned.
• Perform first piece inspections for other machinists as qualified.
• Perform routine maintenance of machines per PM schedule.
• Troubleshoot drawings, tooling, programming, materials and related issues.
• Utilize GD&T as called out on prints.
• Ensure proper setup and accurate interpretation of prints to prevent damage to material.
