Job summary

FM Industries seeks a CNC Machinist II for 2nd shift in Phoenix, AZ. The role requires precise setup and operation of CNC mills/lathe, with attention to GD&T and tool changes. Candidates should have strong measuring tool experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years CNC experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2 years CNC experience with certificates of completion for Machining levels 1 & 2 plus an AAS.
• Ability to read drawings and apply GD&T concepts.
• Ability to read measuring tools including micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to set up jobs independently.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate CNC lathe or mill for production operations.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust as needed.
• Responsible for DNC communications and downloading tool programs.
• Inspect and measure parts according to setup book callouts.
• Monitor and replace tools per tool life management system and document changes.
• Ensure company procedures and best machining practices are followed.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Comply with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
