Job summary

Acme Industries in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift (4:20 PM - 2:50 AM), Monday through Friday. Earn up to $35.20/hour with a 10% shift differential, plus a hire-on bonus and benefits starting day one.

The role involves operating FANUC-controlled CNC mills, reading blueprints, and producing precision components for aerospace, defense, and other high-precision industries.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling, boring, and turning machines with FANUC controls.
• Machine castings and forgings to tight tolerances.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings to specification.
• Maintain close tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Perform tooling changes, offsets, and light setups.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring equipment.
• Verify conformance to customer requirements and documentation.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and support process improvements.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operate CNC milling, boring, and turning machines utilizing FANUC controls
• Machine castings and forgings into precision components
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications

• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment

We're Looking For

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred
• Experience with FANUC controls preferred
• Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets, feeds, and speeds
• Experience producing quality precision-machined parts
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.

Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.

Commitment to safety, quality, and attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of CNC machining experience, formal machining training, or a combination of both.

Experience operating CNC equipment utilizing FANUC controls.

Working knowledge of tooling, machining practices, feeds, speeds, and offsets.

Experience machining castings, forgings, and close-tolerance components.

Basic computer skills.

Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional attention to detail.
