Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Inside Machinist in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will perform setup and operation of manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, saws) and CNC programming/operation, reading complex blueprints, and using precision measuring tools to ensure first-pass conformance.

Requires 6+ years as journeyman inside machinist, HAAS control experience, and ability to work second shift. Compensation ranges from $35 to $48 per hour, depending on skills and education.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of journeyman/specialist level experience as an inside machinist.
• 6+ years setting up and operating lathe and mill machines (HAAS).
• Knowledge of G&M codes and drawings reading.
• Experience with stainless steel and measuring tools.
• Ability to work second shift and bring own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture complex components from stock or modify parts per drawings.
• Set up and operate manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, saws).
• Program, set up and operate CNC machines (lathe and mills).

Insight Global is looking for an inside machinist that requires no supervision and is an expert in all tasks and qualifications required as an Inside Machinist. Will have the ability manufacture complex components from stock or modify parts in accordance with all drawing requirements. Must be able to perform the set up and operation of all manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, saws, etc.) along with the ability to perform programming, set up and operation of Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines (lathe and mills) and hand tools used in the trade as well as the ability to use all precision measuring instruments such as outside diameter and inside diameter micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, calipers, verniers, lay-out tools and possess the ability to accurately record readings and measurements. Expert proficiency in reading complex blueprints, drawings, manuals, technical work documents, measuring and marking dimensions and reference points on material, selecting proper tooling, attachments and accessories as well as manufacturing fixtures to hold work pieces. Expert working knowledge of all feed and speed rates and machining characteristics of various materials. Ability to machine complex parts to close tolerances ensuring that the finish requirements of the drawing specifications are achieved first time through.

Compensation: $35/hr to $48/hr.
