Job summary

Helios Technologies is seeking a Finishing Operator in Florida to finish machined parts by setting up and operating manual and CNC machines. The role requires reading blueprints, performing tool changes and offsets, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience with production machinery, familiarity with Mazak Star/Integrex or Swiss lathes, and a willingness to learn and grow within the team. The position is on-site at our Sarasota facility.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints, specifications, and drawings.
• Understanding GD&T and machining parameters.
• Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC finishing machines.
• Read and verify parts using blueprints and gauges.
• Maintain quality and safety standards and document logs.
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and adjust controls as needed.
• Prolonged standing with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Summary:The Finishing Operator will be responsible for finishing machined parts by setting up and operating manual and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining all quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment/supplies.Duties/Responsibilities:Reading blueprints, specifications, and drawingsSetting up various machines including tools changes and offsets, compensation and conditional switchesMaintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturers instructionsVerifies setting by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces while adhering to standardsMaintaining specifications by observing and taking measurementsTroubleshoot machine malfunctions, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn toolsMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsDocumenting actions by completing production and quality logsUpdating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publication, etc.Communicating status of work orders and irregularitiesExplore opportunities to add value in work areaRequired Skills/Abilities:Understanding work order, blueprints, control plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, critical surfaces/edges, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)Understanding work instructions ad zero/reference pointsUnderstanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometryPositive and proactive attitude toward completing work ordersWillingness to learn and grow through Sun HydraulicsMeeting commitments and obligationsEducation and Experience:High school diploma/GED requiredTechnical college degree preferred2+ years' experience using production machineryExperience working with a Mazak Star/Integrex or Swiss Lathes a plusPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standingProlonged period of sittingAbility to lift 50 pounds at times
