Job summary

Sun Hydraulics in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Finishing Operator to set up and operate manual and CNC machines, finishing machined parts, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will keep records, manage equipment and supplies, and collaborate with production teams to meet commitments. A high school diploma (GED) is required; technical training and 2+ years of machining experience are preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Reading blueprints, specifications, and drawings
• Setting up various machines including tools changes and offsets, compensation and conditional switches
• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturers instructions
• Verifies setting by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces while adhering to standards
• Maintaining specifications by observing and taking measurements
• Troubleshoot machine malfunctions, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs
• Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publication, etc.
• Communicating status of work orders and irregularities
• Explore opportunities to add value in work area

QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:

• Understanding work order, blueprints, control plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, critical surfaces/edges, and machining parameters while interpreting geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T)
• Understanding work instructions ad zero/reference points
• Understanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required

• 2+ years' experience using production machinery
