Why This Role Exists
This role exists to support long‑term aerospace production programs at Magellan Aerospace’s Haverhill facility. As a trusted supplier to aircraft and engine manufacturers, Magellan relies on experienced machinists to produce precision, flight‑critical components with absolute consistency.
This position plays a key role on 2nd shift, supporting steady workload, tight tolerances, and high‑quality aerospace standards.
The Work You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
- Set up and operate CNC engine lathes and mill‑turn equipment
- Machine aerospace components to tight tolerances (±0.001)
- Run repeat and production jobs within established processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, routings, and CNC programs
- Establish work offsets and tooling accurately
- Perform in‑process and final inspections
- Use a wide range of precision gauges to verify part quality
- Maintain 6S standards in your work area
- Support production flow and, when applicable, help train or guide other machinists
This is a hands‑on setup and operation role for experienced machinists who take pride in precision work.

What We’re Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Strong background in CNC lathe operation
- Ability to hold tolerances of ±0.001 consistently
- Experience setting up jobs, tooling, and work offsets
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Familiarity with aerospace machining concepts and practices
- Comfortable working within established procedures and parameters
Preferred (Not Required)
- Mill‑turn machining experience
- Experience acting as a lead or trainer
- Aerospace industry experience
