Why This Role Exists
This role exists to support long-term aerospace production programs at Magellan Aerospace’s Haverhill facility. Grinding is a critical finishing process for flight‑critical components, and this position plays a key role in achieving extremely tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.

The Work You’ll Be Doing
- Set up and operate CNC grinding equipment in a production aerospace environment
- Grind parts to extremely tight tolerances (±0.00015)
- Interpret blueprints, engineering instructions, and process documentation
- Analyze and debug new grinding methods and processes
- Perform calculations and verify dimensions using precision inspection equipment
- Inspect surface finishes and ensure compliance with aerospace requirements
- Indicate parts accurately and establish work offsets
- Monitor and maintain oil and coolant levels daily
- Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Execute all work with a strong focus on productivity, quality, and repeatability

What We’re Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or vocational training with hands‑on machining experience
- 5+ years of machining or CNC grinding experience
- Ability to consistently hold tolerances of ±0.00015
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Proficiency indicating parts and setting work offsets
- Understanding of surface finish requirements and inspection methods
- Ability to work within established aerospace processes and parameters
- Strong attention to detail and quality ownership
Preferred (Not Required)
- Formal CNC grinding training
- Experience converting metric to imperial measurements
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
