Job summary

APX Company in the United States seeks an experienced CNC Laser Operator to run laser cutting machines and assist other operators. You will load programs, select lenses, manage machine parameters, and work with shield gases while meeting safety and quality standards.

Proficiency with sheet metal, reading blueprints, and tool maintenance is required. The role includes shift work and some weekend responsibilities, with opportunities to advance as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience on Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines.
• Solid background working with sheet metal.
• Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
• Proven measurement and mathematical fractional/decimal conversion skills.
• Flexible schedule including shift work and some weekend work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
• Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
• Knowledge about shield gases used during laser cutting operation.
• Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic prioritization.
• Work with automated storage system.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
• Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
• Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, or using hoist.
• Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.
• Uphold all and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
