Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I for the 2nd shift (Tues–Fri, 2:00 PM–11:30 PM) in Madison, WI. You will perform moderate to highly complex tests, document QA/QC, maintain equipment, prepare reagents, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards under the Laboratory Medical Director.

The role requires an Associate degree in lab science or medical technology, US work authorization, and strong knowledge of regulations.

Qualifications

Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests according to SOPs.
Perform, review, and document laboratory quality control procedures.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing.
Identify and troubleshoot basic problems that affect test performance and laboratory operations.
Maintain competency on laboratory tasks.
Mentor new laboratory personnel as needed.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies for daily operations.
Participate in testing and validation of new equipment and procedures.
