Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Chemistry Laboratory Technician for the 2nd shift to support submarine construction through analytical testing and sampling. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a demanding shipyard environment.

The candidate should have a background in analytical chemistry (ICP-OES/MS, benchtop wet chemistry) and be able to access shipyard construction areas, including confined spaces and heights, as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in an analytical chemistry lab
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Operate standard laboratory equipment and techniques
• Experience with water, oil, metals analysis a plus
• Attention to detail, ability to work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively as a team
• Experience with various analytical software and proficient in Microsoft Office
• Requires frequent unassisted lifting of sampling equipment and movement across the shipyard
