Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese in New York is hiring a General Laborer to wrap, box, weigh and palletize cheese blocks and to support sanitation and equipment cleaning.

Responsibilities include labeling, recording production data, gathering supplies, and ensuring package integrity on a 2:30 PM–11:00 PM shift. The pay ranges from $22.45 to $23.10 per hour, with preferred HS diploma, MES and SAP experience.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and prepare production reports
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Ability to communicate with line personnel regarding quality and safety issues

Responsibilities

• Wrap, box and weigh 40 lb and 640 lb blocks of cheese.
• Ensure accurate labels and weights of product.
• Keep accurate production records.
• Ensure package integrity.
• Gather supplies as required.
• Attach bags to block former.
• Observe equipment and cheese through production lines.
• Report problems to supervisor.
• Clean & sanitize all equipment as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and quality procedures.
