Job summary

STARK is seeking a Carpet Cutter to review fabrication work orders, verify carpet style, color, and layout, and perform precise cutting using cutting tables and knives. You will inspect materials for defects, label each cut with key identifiers, and ensure alignment with diagrams and nap direction.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe workspace, collaborating with fabrication and QC teams, and logging cuts in the tracking system.

• Ability to read diagrams and matching production specs.

Job duties may include

• Review Fabrication Work Orders (FWOs) and verify carpet style, color, dimensions, and cutting layout prior to starting work.
• Measure and cut carpet materials accurately using cutting tables, straight edges, knives, and specialized cutting equipment.
• Inspect all materials for defects, shading variations, and backing integrity prior to cutting.
• Label all cuts clearly with style, size, serial number, and job reference information to ensure proper tracking through production.
• Verify all cuts match diagram specifications, accounting for nap direction, pattern alignment, and seam allowances.
• Handle luxury carpet rolls carefully to prevent damage, fraying, or contamination.
• Communicate discrepancies or material issues promptly to the supervisor or QC team.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with 5S and company safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with fabrication, pad prep, and QC departments to support continuous workflow.
• Log completed cuts in Factory Track or production tracking systems as required.
• Perform additional tasks such as trimming, re-cutting, or assisting with layout preparation when needed.

Job Requirements

• Experience in carpet or rug cutting, flooring installation, or textile manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of measuring tools, cutting techniques, and material orientation.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, work orders, and production specifications.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Basic computer or scanner skills for logging and labeling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills a plus.
• Able to lift to up 50lbs multiple times a day
• Able knee, squat and bend for extended periods of time
• Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs multiple times a day
