Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. in Wisconsin is seeking a Bulk Cheese Handler to prepare product, de-box, weigh, and load cheese for processing in a clean, fast-paced plant. You will follow GMPs and safety policies, rotate through lines, and maintain production records.

Ideal candidates have a basic understanding of manufacturing, ability to read reports, and basic computer skills; SAP experience is a plus. High School diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to read, prepare, and comprehend production reports and worksheets.
• Ability to communicate with line personnel regarding information contained therein, and regarding quality and safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• De-box/unwrap cheese from original packaging.
• Weigh cheese when applicable.
• Manual measurement and countdown of cheese for customer specs.
• Inspect/clean cheese and maintain production records.
• Keep line stocked with product to avoid downtime.
• Operate cutters and lifting equipment.
• Load cheese into machines for processing and package trim.
• Review order specs to perform quality checks against customer orders.
• Direct/communicate to line personnel on order specs and safety issues.
• Enter data on production reports and communicate safety issues.
