Job description

Fortress Nutrition is actively hiring for a 2nd Shift Batcher Operator to work on our Beverage Canning Line.

The right candidate will be able to train on 1st shift for 2-4 weeks and then move to the standard 2nd Shift Schedule.

Training Schedule:

1st Shift (6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday); OT and weekends as needed

Standard Schedule:

2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:30pm, Monday-Friday, OT and weekends as needed)

Job Summary:

Working as part of the Beverage Operations team, the Batcher/Canning Line Operator is a dual role. The primary responsibilities include batching raw materials to create beverage products and operating high-speed canning equipment. Cross-training on the canning line is required to ensure smooth operations during batching or staffing shortages.

What You'll Do:

1. Obtain ingredients from coolers and warehouse
2. Pre-weigh ingredients following the MMR
3. Load raw ingredients into the VST
4. Mix ingredients to produce syrup
5. CIP sugar, syrup, and mixing tanks
6. Pull water samples for testing
7. Complete batching sheets accurately following GDPs
8. Return and reconcile partial ingredients
9. Ensure mixture meets specifications and report deviations
10. Communicate process modifications
11. Set-up and operate packaging equipment
12. Troubleshoot machinery issues
13. Document QA checks
14. Report equipment issues to maintenance
15. Perform physical inventory of packaging materials
16. Follow safety, GMPs, and sanitation standards
17. Support staffing needs, including overtime
18. Ensure proper packaging and quality standards
19. Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For:

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. 1+ year in food/beverage or manufacturing preferred
3. Basic math skills for batching
4. 2+ years experience in batching/mixing, preferably liquids
5. Previous experience in bottling/canning is a plus
6. Machine operation experience preferred
7. Basic mechanical knowledge
8. Proficiency in English
9. Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and operate machinery for long hours

Additional Requirements:

This role requires reliability, punctuality, a strong sense of urgency, and teamwork.

Compensation Package:

• $23.00-$25.00/hr plus $1.00 shift premium
• Overtime and weekend pay at double rate for >50 hours/week
