Job description

Fortress Nutrition is actively hiring for a 2nd Shift Batcher Operator to work on our Beverage Canning Line.

The right candidate will be able to train on 1st shift for 2-4 weeks and then move to the standard 2nd Shift Schedule.

Training Schedule:

1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday; OT and weekends as needed

Standard Schedule:

2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm, Monday-Friday, OT and weekends as needed

Job Summary:

Working as part of the Beverage Operations team, the Batcher/Canning Line Operator is a dual role. The primary responsibilities include batching and operating equipment that blends raw materials to create beverage products by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to client specifications following the MMR. Cross-training on the canning line is required to function as an operator when batching is complete or for staffing needs. The Canning Line Operator is responsible for operating high-speed canning/beverage production line equipment to produce and package products efficiently and safely.

What You'll Do:
  • Obtain ingredients from coolers and raw materials warehouse
  • Pre-weigh ingredients for each batch following the MMR (batch ticket)
  • Load raw ingredients into the VST according to the MMR
  • Mix ingredients to produce syrup for operations
  • Clean (CIP) sugar, syrup, and mixing tanks
  • Pull water samples from tanks for pH testing
  • Complete batching sheets with accuracy, following Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
  • Manage ingredient inventory and reconcile partials
  • Ensure mixture meets quality standards; report issues immediately
  • Communicate process modifications and issues to supervisors
  • Set up, operate, and maintain packaging equipment
  • Troubleshoot machinery issues
  • Document QA checks for the canning line
  • Report equipment issues and repairs needed
  • Perform inventory checks and maintain sanitary conditions
  • Support staffing needs with overtime as required
  • Ensure product quality and safety standards are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year experience in food/beverage or manufacturing preferred
  • Basic math and conversion skills for batching
  • 2+ years experience in batching/mixing, preferably liquids
  • Experience in bottling and canning preferred
  • Machine operation experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform manual tasks for long hours

Compensation Package:
  • $23.00-$25.00/hr + $1.00 shift premium
  • Double pay for overtime over 50 hours/week and weekend work
  • PTO, paid holidays, 401K match, insurance, HSA, disability, life insurance, referral bonuses

Ideal candidates will have liquid batching experience, mechanical inclination, and stable work history.
