The Vollrath Company LLC is seeking an Automated Cell Operator for the 2nd shift to support the safe, efficient operation of an automated manufacturing cell, focusing on quality, uptime, and productivity.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys troubleshooting automated equipment and robotics, and can follow safety, quality, and production procedures while maintaining accurate records.
We are seeking an Automated Cell Operator to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform a variety of activities to support the safe, efficient, and productive operation of an automated manufacturing cell. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with automated equipment, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining a high level of quality and productivity.
Grade 7 position
Starting Rate: $30.02/hour
24-Month Rate: $31.17/hour
Load raw materials and set up the blanking press.
Set up and operate presses within the automated cell.
Troubleshoot automated equipment and robotics.
Set up and troubleshoot laser marking equipment.
Monitor and maintain uptime across the multi-press cell.
Dress deburr wheels and perform general material handling.
Ensure raw materials, work in process, and finished products are properly handled to support production and delivery goals.
Monitor cell uptime and cycle times and report deviations from established standards.
Perform other activities as needed to support the automated cell.
Follow all established safety practices and procedures.
Maintain good housekeeping and an organized work area.
Maintain accurate operational and production records.
Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements as an Authorized Operator.
Ensure the quality of raw materials and work in process entering automated operations.
Monitor the quality of finished products coming from the automated cell.
Perform required quality checks and maintain accurate records of product characteristics.
Identify and report deviations from quality standards or equipment performance to supervision.
Ensure raw materials and components are available to support cell uptime and delivery goals.
Perform material handling of raw materials, work in process, and finished products.
Monitor cell uptime and cycle times to help maintain efficient production.
Communicate equipment, quality, or production concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work safely around automated manufacturing equipment, presses, and robotics.
Ability to follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate issues effectively.
Mechanical aptitude test required. Candidates must score at or above the 40th percentile.
