Currently hiring: 2nd Shift Assistant Facilities Manager

Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Hours and days may vary based on site needs)

Facility Type: Manufacturing

We’re currently seeking a proactive and hands-on Assistant Facilities Manager to lead 2nd shift operations at a large manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities include:

1. Supervising and coordinating daily operations across janitorial, utility, and material handling teams on 2nd shift.
2. Interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching team members to meet performance and safety standards.
3. Managing schedules, delegating assignments, and ensuring completion of all shift responsibilities including janitorial services, light maintenance, and material movement.
4. Conducting facility walk-throughs and cleaning inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization.
5. Overseeing safety procedures and taking proactive steps to provide a secure and hazard-free work environment.
6. Operating equipment as needed (e.g., forklifts, tuggers) and supporting loading/unloading activities.
7. Performing and supervising light facility maintenance, basic equipment checks, and preventive upkeep.
8. Ensuring aisles and common areas remain clear by removing debris, pallets, and trash.
9. Assisting with facility project work including minor installations and repairs.
10. Communicating regularly with facility personnel and clients to address service needs and updates.
11. Maintaining records, safety documentation, and shift activity logs.

Qualifications

Must haves:

1. 2–5 years of supervisory experience in facilities, janitorial, or manufacturing/warehouse operations.
2. Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
3. Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
4. Hands-on experience with janitorial practices, basic maintenance, and/or material handling.
5. Comfortable operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and tuggers.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Proficient with basic computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
8. Safety-conscious mindset and experience enforcing workplace safety protocols.
9. Professional demeanor and strong service/quality orientation.
