Job summary

Sargent Metal Fabricators is seeking an Assembly Technician for the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 4pm–2:30am, on site in Anderson, SC. A shift premium adds $1.50 per hour for second-shift work, reflecting the extended evening hours.

The role involves assembling components per engineering drawings and work orders, using hand and power tools, and spot-welding frames to spec. Candidates should have 1–2 years of assembly experience and a strong safety and quality mindset.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or assembly instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for 10–12 hours per shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• 1–2 years assembly experience preferred.
• Strong safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small and large parts and components according to blueprints, work instructions, and customer specifications.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and spot-welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Spot weld frames and components according to blueprint specifications.
• Verify parts and materials prior to assembly to ensure accuracy and readiness for production.
• Perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
• Inspect assembled components for quality, accuracy, and proper fit to ensure they meet customer and company requirements.
• Maintain acceptable levels of productivity, quality, and attendance while following established processes and procedures.
• Report any defects, equipment issues, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production needs, issues, or improvement opportunities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet production goals.
• Promote teamwork and contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
