Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Mocksville, NC is seeking a skilled assembler to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. This role ensures all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include reading diagrams, detecting defects, operating tools, and collaborating with a team to meet production goals in a 2nd shift environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with and ability to utilize hand tools including wrenches, sockets, hammers, tape measures, crimpers, cutters, and steel banding.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to use equipment and understand business processes.
• Familiar with and able to utilize power tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds from floor to waist (up to 50 pounds occasionally).

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks to support assembly and testing of industrial machinery and compression equipment.
• Read, understand, and apply method sheets, assembly diagrams, and blueprints.
• Detect quality defects and unsafe conditions.
• Follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and assemble components.
• Operate power tools and hand tools required for duties.
• Maintain and inspect tools and equipment; create work orders for repairs.
• Load/unload equipment using fork trucks and hoists.
• Work in a team environment and assist others, suggesting process improvements.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by following procedures.
• Handle materials, manage stock levels, and assist with shipping/receiving.
• Assemble components, inspect connections, and perform quality checks.
• Perform general housekeeping of the work area.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor/team leader.
