Job summary

UFP Industries in Columbia, SC seeks an Assembler I to fabricate parts or assemble finished products per customer specs. You will secure components and maintain required supplies for operations.

You will perform setup, fit parts per instructions and use hand tools, while keeping the area clean, safe, and organized and recording production data. Strong attention to quality and safety is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required; 6 months of manufacturing/assembling preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup.
• Fits parts together following instructions and quality standards.
• Operates hand tools to complete the assembly process.
• Stacks finished products and may label/band components as needed.
• Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized; ensures equipment is safe.
• Completes pre-shift equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
• Follows safety and quality procedures and participates in programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary Assembler I is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer's specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
• Maintains production records as required
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned
