Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in the Town of Sidney, NY is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts and assemble finished products per customer specifications, securing and maintaining the needed parts and supplies.

The role covers setting up the work area, fitting parts, using hand tools, stacking products, and keeping the work area safe, clean, and organized while following quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience is required; however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work area setup.
  • Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and quality standards.
  • Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures; may cover, label, and band components finished product.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly/Salary Pay Range

Houry/Salary Pay Range: $17.00 hourly dependent on experience with a $0.75 per hour shift differential For hourly positions with incentive pay: A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
