Job summary

Astrion is seeking a 2nd Shift Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic to support the LASSO II contract at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. The role focuses on precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment of fluid system components, decontamination and passivation of aerospace fluid systems, performed onsite at KSC.

Must be a US citizen and able to work in a controlled laboratory environment with limited travel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• 2+ years in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.
• Able to read drawings and follow procedures with cleanroom tools and instruments.
• Experience with mechanical and electro-mechanical fluid component assembly and testing (pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic).

Responsibilities

• Perform precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment, testing, decontamination and passivation of fluid systems and components.
• Safely perform all work in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures; follow directions and tasks as assigned.
