Flower City Group seeks a 2nd Press Operator to optimize profitability by maintaining quality, making readies, and overseeing press crew efficiency. Responsibilities include platen checks, plate handling, coating control, and defect monitoring across 40-inch presses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of machine press operation.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity of a densitometer and its functions.
• Pull and hang plates pull job in register.
• Cut coating blanket.
• Checks grain direction.
• Lines up sheet checking for size, straightness, correct pagination, bleed requirements, position of sheet to the HP screen, die vinyl or grain direction.
• Checks to be sure proper coating is used.
• When needed sets up and runs feeder or assists Feeder Tender.
• Watches both sides of sheet for defects (scratches picks water, oil spots, draws, cracks, smashes, missed side guide etc.).
• Make sure the Press checklist is fill out and placed on the last load.
• Review and sign off on all fanned out sheets.

Through these tasks below, the 2nd Press Operator will ensure that the highest level of productivity is consistently achieved.

Through these tasks below, the 2nd Press Operator will ensure that the highest level of productivity is consistently achieved.

Schedule

Rotates every two weeks

• A Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• B Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM (Midnight)

• Pull and hang plates pull job in register.

• Checks to be sure proper coating is used.

Preferred Education and Experience

• First Press Operator Certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Regularly required to sit, regular use of hands.
• Frequently required to stand and walk.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and use foot/feet to operate machine.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• The employee must be able to work under pressure with ever changing deadlines and priorities.
