Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking a Stationary Engineer to operate, maintain, diagnose, and repair boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, ice plant and related equipment at the Houston airport facilities.

The role requires a City of Houston 2nd Grade Stationary Engineer license and an EPA Universal license, with strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to read blueprints. A CMMS is used to document work orders and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid City of Houston 2nd Grade Stationary Engineer License and EPA Universal License required.
• Proven technical knowledge with Boilers, HVAC, Refrigeration and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC, refrigeration, ice plant and other critical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot system components.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and safely.
• Maintain logs and CMMS documentation and communicate with customers and management.
• Assist with system upgrades and training of staff as needed.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work is required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and within confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Good hand/eye coordination is required.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment is similar to airport operations with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
