Oshkosh AeroTech invites qualified candidates to join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician II. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance of airport facility systems and controls.

You will manage maintenance tasks using the CMMS and respond to issues promptly on an active airport ramp. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain airport security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • 3+ years of experience in equipment and maintenance operations.
  • Availability to work day or night shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in airport operations or facility maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on facility systems and controls.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment conditions in the CMMS.
  • Execute reactive, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including emergency response.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system failures and determine corrective actions.
  • Communicate critical equipment conditions and maintenance updates to Site Manager.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on facility systems and controls.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment conditions in the CMMS.
  • Execute reactive, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including emergency response.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Promptly communicate critical equipment conditions, operational impacts, and maintenance updates to the Site Manager.
  • Interpret manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, and work orders to perform required service tasks.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment failures to minimize operational downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor controls, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, VFDs, and other mechanical and electrical components.
  • Assist with identifying root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to Facilities Maintenance Technician I employees as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 3+ years’ experience in equipment and maintenance operations
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Availability to work day or nightshift including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in airport operations or facility maintenance.
  • Plumbing/electrical background with 480V, 3-phase motors.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and common software applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of a Facilities Maintenance Technician, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircrafts and the confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.
