Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• ESL certification required within two years of employment.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Gifted teachers must have 30 hours of gifted approved hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve a diverse population of students who may participate in state/federal programs and general education.
• Establish professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues and community.
• Abide by Alief ISD Code of Civility.
• Maintain an attendance rate of 94% annually (excluding leaves).
• Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators per district guidelines.
• Plan and participate in meetings, documenting admissions, reviews, progress and reports.
• Comply with state and federal laws, district policies, rules and directives.
