Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools is seeking a 2nd Grade Math teacher for Power Center Academy Elementary School (PCAES). You will design weekly lesson plans, teach a common core curriculum, and integrate technology to support student learning in a 2nd grade classroom.

The ideal candidate holds a TN Elementary Education license (endorsement 120), a bachelor's degree or higher, and demonstrates a track record of academic success through TVAAS and state assessments.

Qualifications

• Holds a current TN teaching license in Elementary Education with endorsement code 120.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success as evidenced by TVAAS, state assessments and value-added data (preferred).
• Ability to work in an extended day environment.
• Ability to teach in an inclusion environment with a co-teacher.
• Good communication and written skills required.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Create weekly lesson plans aligned to a common core-based curriculum.
• Teach a 2nd grade math-focused curriculum.
• Integrate technology into lessons and plans.
• Motivate scholars toward achievement.
• Meet with parents regarding performance and conduct.
• Develop scholar improvement plans.
• Collaborate with special educators in a co-teaching model for students with IEPs.
• Engage in weekly professional development and team planning.
• Create and review student assessments and data.
• Tutor students and perform other duties as assigned.
