Job summary

Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic Schools is seeking a 2nd Grade Instructional Assistant at St. John School in Seattle. The role supports the teacher with small group learning, one-to-one work, and routine classroom duties in a Catholic school setting.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience with school-age children, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to professional development. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–3:00 PM, with duties across recess and daily routines.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience working with school age children (preferred).
• Be a practicing Catholic.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, kneel and sit on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work collaboratively with second grade teacher.
• Support primary department teachers and assistants.
• Prepare materials, projects, assignments.
• Facilitate small groups/centers.
• Work with students with diverse needs and learning styles.
• Maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
• Supervise students during recess, field trips, and lunch.
