Job summary

Alpha, reimagining elementary education, seeks a 2nd Grade Teacher to work on-site at campuses in Palo Alto, Malibu, or San Francisco. You will run life-skills workshops and coach K-3 students using adaptive learning tools, helping them build confidence, focus, and communication.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years with children aged 4–9, and the ability to motivate students toward ambitious weekly goals; relocation assistance is available and US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years working directly with children (ages 4–9) in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, or youth programs.
• Experience leading group activities for young children with structure to engage the group.
• Proven track record of motivating young children to meet challenging goals with examples.
• Ability to adjust approach based on feedback and outcome.
• Comfort using AI-powered learning while focusing on coaching and life-skill development.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead life-skills workshops to help K-3 students master communication, focus, and feedback.
• Coach students one-on-one and in small groups using analytics and strong relationships to hit weekly goals.
• Assess mastery with Alpha's framework, coaching until real understanding is shown.
• Adapt coaching to cohort needs using storytelling, movement, and song as appropriate.
• Build relationships that support students to stretch beyond their perceived limits.
