NESMITH ELEMENTARY in Lavon, Texas is seeking a 2nd Grade Elementary Generalist to deliver engaging instruction and support student growth in core subjects. The role emphasizes planning aligned with district curriculum, assessing student progress, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree with a valid Texas teaching certificate and at least one year of student teaching or internship. AED/CPR trained preferred; immediate starting date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or related training for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• AED and CPR certificates for Physical Education Teachers.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons accommodating differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan instructional activities reflecting student learning styles and needs.
• Assess student learning using formal and informal methods.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Collaborate with staff to set instructional goals and methods.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents and staff.
