Join to apply for the 2nd Grade Elementary School Teacher role at Crystal Lake Elementary District 47.

Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has two vacancies for a 2nd Grade Elementary School Teacher, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. The position aims to create a flexible, grade-appropriate program and classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth. Responsibilities include establishing rapport with students, motivating skill and attitude development, and fostering positive relationships with parents and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Implement the adopted course of study.
  2. Instruct students in basic subject matter as per state law and district regulations.
  3. Select or develop instructional materials for individualized and small group instruction.
  4. Translate lesson plans into effective learning experiences.
  5. Maintain standards of student behavior to ensure a productive learning environment.
  6. Evaluate students’ academic and emotional growth, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
  7. Communicate with parents about students’ progress.
  8. Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to address health, attitude, and learning issues.
  9. Maintain professional competence through district-provided or self-directed professional development.
  10. Participate in performance evaluations and curriculum development.
  11. Assist in selecting instructional materials and maintain inventory records.
  12. Administer standardized tests according to district testing programs.
  13. Participate in faculty committees and student activities.
  14. Perform job functions safely, without threat to health or safety.
  15. Report to building administrators.
Skills and Experience Required
  1. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License.
  2. Elementary Education endorsement.
  3. Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  4. Student teaching and/or experience in a K-5 classroom.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  1. High levels of flexibility, interpersonal skills, articulation, concentration, confidentiality, and organization.
  2. Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift materials or equipment.
  3. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high flexibility and concentration.
