Job summary

OSM Thome Limited is seeking a hands-on 2nd Engineer (Motor) for oil/chemical tanker operations trading in the USA and Canada.

You will assist the Chief Engineer, oversee engine room systems, and ensure safe, compliant operation while leading ratings.

Candidates must hold a valid 2nd Engineer CoC, STCW endorsements, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC and STCW compliance.
• Oil/chemical tanker experience mandatory.
• Good command of English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer in safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and systems.
• Plan and carry out routine maintenance and repairs on main engine, auxiliaries and deck/engine equipment.
• Monitor fuel, lube oil and consumables; ensure proper record keeping and reporting.
• Supervise engine room ratings and ensure safe working practices.
• Support bunkering operations and pollution prevention procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company, flag state, class and tanker industry standards.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements:
• Valid 2nd Engineer (Motor) CoC, STCW-compliant

• Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and vaccinations as required
• Strong safety attitude and good leadership in the engine room
