Job summary

iPS Powerful People (B Corp™) seeks a capable 2nd Engineer to join our marine operations and keep the engine room humming on our vessel. You will maintain propulsion and auxiliary machinery while you watch and support the Chief Engineer.

You will mentor junior crew, run diagnostics on pumps and generators, and participate in training paths aimed at advancing to Chief Engineer, with ongoing development opportunities across international waters.

Qualifications

• Must hold STCW III/2 Second Engineer CoC.
• HV certification is required.
• Required STCW basic safety and firefighting credentials.
• Experience in engine room watchkeeping and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain main propulsion engines and auxiliary machinery during watch.
• Assist Chief Engineer with bunkering, PMS, and troubleshooting.
• Run diagnostics on pumps, purifiers, and generators to ensure smooth operation.
• Mentor junior crew and engine cadets onboard.
• Pave a path toward Chief Engineer through dedicated training programs.

• Maintain main propulsion engines and auxiliary machinery safely while keeping watch in the engine room.
• Assist the Chief Engineer with bunkering operations, PMS, and troubleshooting complex systems.
• Run diagnostics on pumps, purifiers, and generators to ensure smooth sailing across international waters.
• Inspire junior crew members and engine cadets as a key technical leader onboard.
• Navigate your career progression toward becoming a Chief Engineer with our dedicated training paths.

• Overhauling auxiliary engines and ensuring smooth main propulsion performance during your watchkeeping duties.
• Troubleshooting complex machinery, fuel systems, and hydraulic setups while underway.
• Mentoring junior crew members and embracing strong internal career development opportunities toward a Chief Engineer role.
• Holding a valid CoC - Second Engineer (STCW III/2) alongside High Voltage certification.
• Possessing up-to-date mandatory credentials, including Basic Safety Training (STCW VI/1), Advanced Firefighting (STCW VI/3), and Medical First Aid (STCW A-VI/4.1).
