Master Boat Builders, Inc. in Alabama is seeking a 2nd Class Structural Welder to join our shipbuilding team. You will contribute to the structural integrity of marine vessels and work on frames and hulls in a full-time role with built-in overtime.

The position requires passing 3G vertical and 4G overhead weld tests and maintaining high-quality welds. A safety-focused mindset and ability to work in varied environments are essential for success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welding Functions: Perform various welding tasks, including Frame Tacking, Non-Watertight Butts, Butt Welding, Pick-up Welding, with a focus on producing consistent, high-quality welds.
• Collaboration: Coordinate close with other welders, pipe fitters, and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

The 2nd Class Structural Welder will support the construction of ships and other marine vessels. This role will be contributing to the structural integrity and functionality of marine projects.

The schedule for this role has 6 hours of built in overtime. Additional overtime is typically available for those interested.

Full Time Position: Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM and Friday 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Successful candidates will pass a single pass Fillet-Weld Test in the 3g vertical/4g overhead position(s).

• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
