Job summary

Riverton Pointe Golf & Country Club is seeking a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to oversee daily operations and compliance with safety and environmental standards. The role requires strong interpersonal communication, organization, and pesticide licensing, with leadership over maintenance staff.

Responsibilities include ensuring proper chemical handling, equipment calibration, safety inspections, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must have a valid Pesticide Application License.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment.
• Reads, understands and keeps current MSDS.
• Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with regulations.
• Ensures safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers.
• Maintains log of applications and related reports.
• Hand sprays and maintains proper mixing amounts and application techniques.
• Keeps knowledge up-to-date on chemicals/fertilizers applied.
• Ensures proper calibration of spraying/fertilizing equipment.
• Supervises and assists maintenance staff in daily duties.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and government regulations.
• Ensures associates obtain proper licenses for job tasks safely.
• Addresses environmental concerns directly.
• Assists with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates.
• Manages department members (e.g., Environmental Technician).
• Delivers effective orientation and training; develops ongoing training programs.
• Monitors business volume forecasts and plans manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
