Job description

Job Description: Fabric Inspection Associate

Under the supervision of the Inspection Supervisor/Team Lead, this role involves inspecting finished fabric.

Essential Functions:

This list is representative and not exhaustive of all responsibilities and tasks.

  • Ensure a safe work environment and identify training opportunities to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Achieve daily production goals.
  • Position full horse and move empty horse aside.
  • Align the end of fabric with the leading end and secure with Swiftack.
  • Start the machine, monitor fabric for defects according to SOP, and inspect fabric during production.
  • Use scissors to remove bad seams or defects.
  • Operate sewing machine to repair fabric; use tape to mask seams if required.
  • Flag defects using Swiftack and/or china marker.
  • Record defects in the inspection system and report questionable materials to supervisor or lead.
  • Prepare samples, collect paperwork, record production, fill out grade forms, and deliver samples and paperwork to lab.
  • Receive instructions, gather tools and supplies, and prepare equipment.
  • Fill Swiftack thread sewing machine and perform other related tasks.
  • Pay close attention to detail and execute tasks effectively.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
Abilities:
  • Follow detailed procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving equipment, sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Understand concepts quickly.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards.
  • Pay attention to detail and execute tasks efficiently.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection
  • Reflective vest (where applicable)
