Job summary

The North Carolina Zoo is seeking a 2nd & 3rd Shift Assistant Emergency Operations–Security team member in Asheboro, NC. You will support 24/7/365 security operations, assist with emergency response, and help maintain safety for guests, staff, and animal and facility collections.

Requires high school diploma or GED with experience in safety or security; willingness to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends; and ability to operate radios, telephones, and security systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety or security operations is preferred.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Polite and diplomatic enforcement of policies for guests and employees.
• Respond to emergencies and assist as needed.
• Close and/or open the park; secure buildings and gates as required.
• Perform security patrols and monitor alarms and temperatures.
• Assist with and/or provide tours and public information.
