Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Jonesborough, Tennessee is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician BWXT NOGJ to perform routine inorganic analytical chemistry testing within the Chemical Laboratory and QA Department.

The role may require second or third shift and weekend support to align with production needs. You will operate ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, and other instruments, maintain safety and quality standards, and assist in developing new analytical procedures.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree in a technical field with 2+ years in quality control or 6+ years overall QC experience.
• Preferred: Associate degree with focus on Chemistry, Biology, Physics or related field.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift including weekends.
• Experience with laboratory instruments and LIMS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform inorganic-leaning analytical chemistry determinations.
• Operate instruments like ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, and titration units.
• Train new lab personnel in analytic determinations.
• Review procedures and assist in developing new analytical methods.
• Maintain daily data collection and reporting.
