Job summary

Star Electric, Inc. in Billings, MT is seeking experienced 2nd-4th year Apprentice and Journeyman to join our growing team on commercial and industrial projects across Montana. This full-time role features a 4-day work week with overtime as needed, and a start date in early August.

You'll work under the Site Foreman, perform installations, read blueprints, uphold safety, and travel as required. We value hard work, ownership, and teamwork as core principles.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial/industrial electrical installations.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
• Willingness to travel throughout Montana.
• Strong safety and craftsmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations on commercial and industrial job sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
• Maintain high quality, safety, and efficiency on tasks.
• Support apprenticeship development and demonstrate proper techniques.
• Coordinate with foreman and crew to ensure smooth workflow.
• Travel to projects across Montana, with overnight stays as needed.
• Accurately report completed work and track time and materials.

About the Role

We’re looking for experienced, hard-working 2nd, 3rd, 4th Year Apprentice and Journeyman to join our growing team and work on a variety of commercial and industrial jobs in Billings and across Montana.

Target start date is early to mid August.

You’ll be a vital part of the field team, executing high-quality electrical installations and supporting the success of each project. You will report directly to the Site Foreman and are expected to take ownership of your work, maintain high safety standards, and contribute positively to the crew dynamic.

WhatYou’llDo

• Perform electrical installations on commercial and industrial job sites under the direction of the Site Foreman or Lead.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.

• Complete tasks with attention to detail, quality, and efficiency.

• Support apprenticedevelopmentby answering questions anddemonstratingproper techniques.

• Ensure all work meets Star Electric’s safety and quality standards.

• Maintain and care for tools, materials, and job site cleanliness.

• Coordinate with fellow electricians andforemento ensure smooth workflow.

• Travelasneeded for projects across Montana (overnight travelrequiredat times;typically,homeonweekends).

• Accurately report completed work and track time and materials used.
