Staffmark Group is seeking an AutoCAD Operator in Memphis, TN to support mechanical design engineers by creating detailed 2D drawings for industrial systems. The role emphasizes problem-solving, collaboration, and accurate drafting for manufacturing projects.

The candidate should have 1 year of 2D AutoCAD experience, familiarity with PLM, and solid MS Word/Excel skills. Education ranges from a high school diploma to an associate/technical degree in drafting or engineering technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/technical degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of 2D AutoCAD experience required.
• Experience reading technical drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances preferred.
• Familiarity with PLM software and 3D CAD (SolidWorks/CATIA) is a plus.
• Strong MS Word and Excel skills; good communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D AutoCAD shop fabrication drawings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specs, and documentation.
• Apply standard drafting symbols, tolerances, and weld notes.
• Create and maintain BOMs using PLM software.
• Select components based on project specs.
• Calculate material and part weights.
• Support engineering with drawing revisions and documentation.
• Track project schedules and ensure on-time drafts.
• Maintain accuracy with design and manufacturing standards.
