Job summary

Steel Traditions in Vista, California seeks an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to join our in-house drafting team. This hands-on role focuses on producing 2D shop drawings for custom steel windows and doors from approved shop drawings.

The ideal candidate is fast, accurate, organized and highly proficient in 2D AutoCAD, with the ability to read architectural plans, understand elevations and details. On-site, full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $28 to $32, depending on experience,

Qualifications

• Read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
• Produce accurate 2D shop drawings for windows and doors.
• Verify dimensions, elevations and hardware locations.
• Follow written redlines and verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D AutoCAD shop drawings for custom steel windows and doors.
• Read architectural plans, elevations, schedules, sections and details.
• Translate plans into accurate shop drawings.
• Incorporate customer and internal redlines accurately.
• Prepare elevations, sections, dimensions, details, product configurations.
• Verify dimensions, swing directions, configurations and hardware locations.
• Identify missing or unclear information before release.
• Coordinate drawing details with production and operations teams.
• Manage revisions and organize project drawing files.
• Work on multiple active projects and meet drafting deadlines.
