The City of Dover Community Services Department is seeking a full-time laborer to maintain city buildings, parks, ball fields, playgrounds, traffic signals, street lights, and other facilities in the Facilities, Grounds & Cemeteries Division.
This 40-hour per week, non-exempt position requires basic tool use, physical fitness for heavy manual labor in all weather, and a valid Operator's license (CDL-B preferred).
The Community Services Department is seeking an individual to perform a variety of routine unskilled and semi-skilled manual laboring duties involving the maintenance of city buildings, parks, ball fields, playgrounds, traffic signals, street lights, and other facilities in the Facilities, Grounds & Cemeteries Division.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, non-exempt position. $20.29 to $29.32 per hour. Position is open until filled.
Basic knowledge of and the ability to use simple hand and power tools. Ability to perform simple and routine manual labor and perform one routine job for a prolonged period. Sufficient physical strength, conditioning and agility to perform strenuous manual labor for extended periods of time under adverse and varying weather and climatic conditions. Basic computer experience to initiate or complete Service Requests and Work Orders either via remote tablet or laptop.
High school diploma or equivalent, and one year's experience in construction, road maintenance or trade work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position. Valid Operator's license required, CDL-B license with air brake and tanker endorsement preferred.
