Job summary

Teltrium Inc. in Colorado is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead studies and deliver across NASA space communications and enterprise networks, emphasizing network-of-networks interoperability.

You will develop requirements, architectures, interfaces, risks, and baselines; collaborate with NASA customers, engineers, software teams, and leadership; mentor junior engineers; strong writing and presentation skills are required for this onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• Experience with requirements development and management, interface definition, risk tracking, system architecture, trade studies, and technical reviews.
• Experience supporting complex, software-intensive, networked, or distributed systems.
• Ability to lead technical activities involving multiple organizations, systems, and stakeholder groups.
• Strong technical writing, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities for NASA space communications and enterprise systems projects.
• Support the development of a network-of-networks orchestration capability that delivers a seamless mission experience across multiple communications networks.
• Develop and manage system requirements, interfaces, architectures, risks, and technical baselines.
• Lead system concept development, trade studies, gap analyses, and technical assessments.
• Define and evaluate interfaces among mission systems, communications networks, enterprise services, and software platforms.
• Collaborate with NASA customers, network stakeholders, engineers, software teams, and program leadership.
• Translate mission and stakeholder needs into actionable technical requirements and implementation approaches.
• Facilitate technical working groups, reviews, and cross-organizational coordination.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges and develop recommended mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, decision materials, and recommendations for engineering and senior leadership audiences.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less-experienced engineers.

What You’ll Do

What You Need

• Experience supporting complex, software-intensive, networked, or distributed systems

• Ability to lead technical activities involving multiple organizations, systems, and stakeholder groups

• Strong technical writing, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

• Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and senior customer leadership

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with space communications, satellite communications, ground networks, or mission operations

• Knowledge of enterprise networks, network management, service orchestration, or network-of-networks concepts

• Experience with software systems, APIs, data exchange, automation, or cloud-based services

• Familiarity with systems integration, interoperability, and end-to-end service management

• Experience developing operational concepts, functional architectures, or system roadmaps

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering, SysML, or digital engineering practices

• Experience with requirements and collaboration tools such as IBM DOORS, Jira, Confluence, Cameo, or similar platforms

• Experience supporting NASA, other federal agencies, or aerospace programs

• Understanding of communications network performance, availability, reliability, and cybersecurity considerations

• Experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers
