Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lift 40 lbs; able to work with students.

Responsibilities

• Drive a bus and transport students safely between Northeast Tech and partner high schools; up to three trips per day.
• Perform daily bus inspections; keep bus clean and orderly.
• Maintain safety and follow state guidelines and district policies; follow routes and assist as needed.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Substitute Bus Driver – District Employee Assigned to Pryor Campus

Non-Exempt, Support, Substitute, 10-month Staff

Starting Date: As needed

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours will be intermittent and vary depending upon the assigned bus route. Supervisor retains the right to adjust the work schedule and job description/duties based on the needs of the district.

Wage: $33.80

Responsibilities

• Drive a bus and transport students safely between Northeast Technology Center and partner high schools, up to three times per day as directed.
• Perform daily bus inspections (pre-trip and post-trip) and keep the bus clean and orderly.
• Maintain safety and comply with applicable state guidelines and school district policies.
• Follow routes and schedules; assist with in-transit order; evacuations as required; other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Administrator.

Education and Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience/Certification: Must hold a current Oklahoma School Bus Driver’s Certificate and a valid Commercial Driver’s License (air brake endorsement preferred); pass background checks and DOT medical/drug testing; strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lift 40 pounds; able to work with students; computer skills preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Annual health certificate; random drug/alcohol/DOT testing as required.
• Criminal background check and proof of citizenship or legal residency.
• Ability to work with irregular hours and extended days as needed.
