Job summary

Grandview High School in Grandview, Missouri is seeking a part-time Coach, Assistant for Boys Soccer. Immediate start; reports to Building Principal/Athletic Director; supervises 30-40 student athletes. Responsibilities include coaching, planning practices, coordinating equipment and schedules, and organizing camps. FLSA: Exempt; duration March–May.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise and mentor student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual student athletes in soccer skills for excellence.
• Plan and schedule a regular in-season practice program.
• Coordinate with athletic director on equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Maintain attendance records, insurance, lineups, and statistics.
• Set eligibility criteria for competition.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship; assign penalties when needed.
• Engage with college recruiters via mail and phone.
• Organize camps and clinics when appropriate.
• Oversee off-season conditioning.
• Attend/participate in clinics to enhance knowledge.
• Plan and coordinate end-of-year awards banquet.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal/Athletic Director

SUPERVISES:

30-40 student athletes

JOB GOAL:

To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the value of

discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coach individual student athletes in the skills necessary for excellence in chosen sport.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
• Work with athletic director in scheduling, purchasing equipment, supplies, uniforms, etc.
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, lineups, statistics, etc.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility for competition.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Work closely with college recruiters through mail and phone calls.
• Organize camps and clinics when appropriate.
• Organize and oversee off-season conditioning.
• Attend/participate in clinics to enhance knowledge and improve program.
• Plan and coordinate end of year awards banquet.

DURATION OF POSITION:

March - May

FLSA: Exempt

CLEARANCES: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

Salary: $3,704 to $4,938 Per Year
