Job Description

Reports To: Building Principal/Athletic Director

Supervises: 50 student athletes

Job Goal: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the value of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Coach individual student athletes in the skills necessary for excellence in chosen sport.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
• Work with athletic director in scheduling, purchasing equipment, supplies, uniforms, etc.
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, lineups, statistics, etc.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility for competition.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• Work closely with college recruiters through mail and phone calls.
• Organize camps and clinics when appropriate.
• Organize and oversee off-season conditioning.
• Attend/participate in clinics to enhance knowledge and improve program.
• Plan and coordinate end of year awards banquet.

Duration of Position: School year plus some summer activities
