An appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and is subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and the California Faculty Association. The order of work starts with tenure-line faculty and ends with new lecturer appointees. Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States; California State University, Fresno does not sponsor temporary faculty for work visas.
