Job summary

CMHA-CEI in Lansing, MI is seeking a dedicated janitor to perform cleaning and minor maintenance under supervision of the Head Custodian. Responsibilities include daily janitorial tasks across CMHA-CEI facilities and adherence to policies.

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, operation of floor scrubbers and vacuums, and reliable transportation if needed. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with shift incentives for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must be physically able to operate a variety of janitorial equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, etc.).
• May be required to have access to reliable means of transportation for job related use.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Property and Facilities Coordinator or Supervisor, takes day to day direction from the Head Custodian while performing Janitorial functions that include cleaning and minor maintenance tasks at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties’ owned/contracted facilities. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/subunit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Conditional Employment Requirements

• Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police Clearance check.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.

Salary/Hours

$15.58-17.45 per hour. Mondays – Fridays 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Shift Incentive: + $1.25/hour for hours worked 5pm – 12am | + $2/hour for hours worked 12am – 8am | + $3/hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm – Monday 8am.
